TCR Presents: Clue – Theatre Cedar Rapids
Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth–the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!

Friday the 13th with Kris Lager, Ideal Theater & Bar
Time to kick off the Halloween season with a spooky Friday the 13th jam!! Hailing from Omaha, NE, Kris Lager has delighted the area for years with his thrilling, danceable blend of blues/funk/rock/reggae. Lager will be joined by Almost Wizards of Cedar Falls, IA opens with an equally funky set.

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy a night of authentic Linn County ghost stories with campfires, s'mores, hot cocoa, popcorn and cash bar.

Art at Brucemore: Witch’s Hat, Brucemore Carriage House
Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring a brand-new ceramics workshop to the site, just in time for spooky season! In this workshop, participants will build their own unique witch’s hat using various hand-building techniques. Once the hat is the perfect size and shape, participants can add spook-tacular decorations to their creations with colored glazes and various textures.

Rock Horror Picture Show, NewBo City Market
Local burlesque troupe Knights of the Round Pasties will lead the pre-show activities, including the audience-judged costume contest! NewBo Beer and Wine will be open with drink specials for the evening. Every guest will receive a prop bag, so pull on those fishnets and bring your best voice for this great Halloween classic! Tickets required.

Monsters Unleashed Halloween Parade, The District: Czech Village & New Bohemia
Have fun with the whole family including the Creepy Kids Zone (4-5:30 p.m.), Family Costume Contest (5-5:30 p.m.), and of course Halloween Parade (6:30-7:45 p.m.).

13th Annual Wickiup Fall Festival, Wickiup Hill Learning Center
Head out to Wickiup and experience a friendly trick or treat hike through the woods, pumpkin bowling, straw scramble, creepy critters, and more! Aimed at ages 3-10, but younger and older siblings welcome. Costumes encouraged! Cost $3/child.

Spooky Hay Rack Night, Ushers Ferry
Come to Ushers Ferry for our last fall hay rack night with a Halloween twist! In addition to the hay rack ride, enjoy a children’s craft, s’mores and hot cocoa around the bonfire, and a very special, after-dark tour with one of the village’s mysterious residents. Hear some of the rarely told stories and history of Ushers Ferry and Linn County.

Children will explore ways to connect, breathe, move, focus and relax! We'll connect to the senses while enjoying a piece of candy, practice a Halloween themed class and end with an enchanting story!

2nd Annual Day of the Dead, NewBo City Market
Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, is a Mexican tradition that honors deceased loved ones. Families create altars with offerings and visit cemeteries to celebrate and remember, often with painted faces, vibrant decorations, and festive parades. It's a lively and heartfelt tribute to the cycle of life and death.

The Rocky Horror Show, CSPS Hall
A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1960s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, unveiling his new creation, Rocky.

The Shining Halloween Party with Vandello Live, Ideal Theater & Bar
For one night, The Ideal becomes The Gold Room from The Shining. Step in (if you dare) to the Overlook Hotel and into the magic of The Gold Room, where ghosts of parties past waltz in the golden light. Gypsy-jazz-Americana sensation, VANDELLO, entertains party goers the entire evening. The Shining-themed costumes OR 1920's Gatsby garb is encouraged, but not required. Tickets required.

The 5th Realm, Lindale Mall
This annual, indoor haunted attraction is located inside Lindale Mall tells a new tale of horrors each year and is a can’t miss for those who love a good scare! The terrifying experience is fully accessible, but please note there are strobe lights and fog effects used throughout. New this year, boost your costume with airbrushed tattoo and learn your future with tarot readings (available on select evenings).

Circle of Ash rises again! Mixing elements of indoor & outdoor style haunted attractions, Circle of Ash delivers the best of both worlds. All new areas of total darkness await and beautiful, scary sets for monsters to hide. Are you brave enough to go first?

With over 75 creepers, clowns, and zombies - and FOUR haunted attractions, Scream Acres Scream Park offers an all-inclusive haunted house experience for all ages. The question is, can you make it through?

The Haunted Garage is back! Check out one of C.R.'s favortite terrifying traditions with FREE ADMISSION. (Canned goods accepted for the Salviation Army, but not required). Have little ones but don't want to tramatize them? Hit up the Kids Matinee where the actors and jump scares stand down for a family-friendly fright on Saturday, October 28th from 1-3 p.m.

Safe Halloween For Kids, Ushers Ferry
Enjoy the annual old-fashion Halloween at the village with trick or treating, games, costume contests. Registering in advance is encouraged but not required.

Trunk or Treat, St. Mark's Lutheran Church
CANDY. CARS. COMMUNITY. St. Mark's is excited to host our first ever TRUNK OR TREAT event. This is a fun and safe environment for your family to make memories this Halloween. Children of all ages are welcome to come dressed in their costumes to trick or treat in our church parking lot. Parents will accompany children as they travel from trunk to trunk.

District Trick or Treat, The District: Czech Village & New Bohemia
Have the kiddos throw on their Halloween costumes and enjoy this safe, daytime Trick or Treating experience in Czech Village (10 a.m. - 12 p.m.) and New Bohemia (1 - 3 p.m.).
