Fall Festivals 2022

As the temps cool, find the happening, chill events!

Checkout this year’s line-up of can’t-miss fall festivals in and around the Cedar Rapids area. We’ll see you there!

September

September 8th, 5-9 p.m.
Dinner On The Bridge, Bridge of Lions (16th Avenue Bridge)
Enjoy a beautiful September night, welcome drinks, tasty appetizers, festive candlelit dinner tables spanning the Bridge of Lions and a great local meal accompanied by local beverages, lots of music and a silent auction of great items from Czech Village and New Bohemia. 

September 10th - 11th, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Fall Festival Weekend, Bass Family Farms
Pick out your pumpkins, shop the country store and enjoy hay rack rides, a giant jumping pad, sling shots, spider webs, 18 hole mini-golf, tire playground, pedal carts, GIANT tic tac toe, GIANT checker board tables, teeter totters, LIFE size connect four, GIANT Jenga, photo ops, candy corn bag toss, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin slide, corn hole and more!

September 14th, 5-6:30 p.m.
Harvest Hayrack Nights, Usher’s Ferry
Geared toward families with young children (all ages welcome), bring supper with you and come out to Ushers Ferry for an early evening hayrack ride, bonfire, and simple craft before bedtime. The saloon will be open with popcorn and sarsaparilla available for purchase.

September 16th - 25th, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunflower Festival, Bloosmbury Farm
Open Fridays through Sundays, start the fall fun on the farm with golden vibes and vibrant fields of sunflowers. Pick-Your Own sunflowers and get the perfect photo op, day maker & addition to brighten your home! This will be an experience you will remember forever.

September 16th - October 7th, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Harvest Festival, Bloomsbury Farm
Open Fridays through Sundays, start fall of right with Sunflower Fields, Zinnia Fields, Pumpkin Patch, 10-Acre Corn Maze, Pumpkin Blaster Show, Pig Races, Pumpkin Bowling, Super Slide, Bee Line mini Zip, Corn Palace and more!

September 16th, 6:30pm-9:30pm
Brewnost, National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library
BrewNost is the Midwest’s premier international beer festival that supports the educational and cultural mission of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library. Don’t miss this lively event featuring unlimited food and beverage from some of the area’s finest restaurants, local breweries and distilleries, along with international beers, wine, and spirits. The evening will be filled with yard games, live music from Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen, along with a special performance by Jozef Ivaška, a silent and a live auction, and the drawing of the BrewNost raffle prize – a trip for two to Prague!

BlocktoberFest, 2nd Ave SE/3rd St SE
Party in the streets of downtown Cedar Rapids with Fun Not Fancy Restaurant Group and experience the block party of your dreams! There will be live music, food and beer available for purchase. Don't miss this one-of-a-kind event at the intersection of 2nd Avenue SE and 3rd Street SE!

September 17th, 11am-3pm
Marion Oktoberfest, Uptown Marion
Enjoy a fun afternoon sampling a wide variety of beer brands and styles from 25 local breweries. Brewery reps will be on hand to visit with and educate fans on their beers. Each attendee will receive a commemorative tasting glass, access to samples, and complementary water. Don’t miss the music and games, traditional stein holding contest and hammerschlagen in City Square Park at Celebration Tent!

September 18th, 11am-5pm
Cedar Rapids Festival Latino, McGrath Amphitheater
Come celebrate and experience the richness and diversity of the Latin American culture! Bring your family and friends to enjoy live music performances, different types of food from various countries, and the many activities for kids! 8th Annual Asian Fest, NewBo City Market
This FREE event celebrates and recognizes culture and heritage from all over Asia. Dine, dance and develop an appreciation of the Asian communities in the area with local food vendors, Cultural Villages, Kid Zone, Live Performances, Fashion Show and more!

Ely Fall Fest, Ely
Fall Fest is a family-oriented and affordable celebration that offers a wide range of events for all ages. The event has continued to grow each and every year with attendees coming from all across the state to join in on the fun filled weekend. This year, check out the everything from a Wiffle Ball Tournaments to face painting, a car show, vendor fair and the best Kids Zone ever!

5th Annual Harvest Time Festival, Walker, IA
Visit Walker for this FREE 2-day festival featuring farm-grown pumpkins, fresh cut flower bouquets, house made soy candles & seasonal decor, train rides, children's activities and delicious food!

September 25th, 10:30am-5pm
100th Annual St. Wenceslaus Goulash Day, St. Wenceslaus
Fun & food for the whole family! Games, Bingo, Kolaches, Goulash, Brats, Wence-burgers, cake, pie, ice cream, coffee, pop, milk. Raffles, 50/50 drawing, vintage linens and more! Don't miss it. Mass at 10:30 and events to follow till 5pm. Bingo in church basement, everything else in parking lot.

Trailside Tastings, Indian Creek Nature Center
Stop at sampling stations along the way, featuring heavy appetizers and craft beverages! Enjoy an evening stroll through the fall prairie and stop at sampling stations along the way, featuring heavy appetizers and craft beverages from local producers including: Backpocket Brewing, Big Grove Brewery, BIT Brewery, Iowa Brewing Company, Lion Bridge Brewing Company, Ardon Creek Winery, Cedar Ridge Winery, Wild Culture Kombucha, Wilson’s Orchard & Farm.

Friday, September 30-October 2nd
Amana Oktoberfest, Amana Festhalle Barn
Enjoy beer, live music, games, German food, and so much more all through the Amana Colonies during this festival weekend. There will also be live music from bands like Barefoot Becky and the Ivanhoe Dutchmen, the Colony Folksingers, Bavarian Musikmeisters, Ken and Mary Turbo Accordions, and more, along with beer – lots of beer.

NewBo City Market OktoberFest, New Bohemian Neighborhood
Join NewBo City Market and Backpocket Brewing for this year’s Oktoberfest celebration! This event will be held in the Market Yard. Along with pints and steins of delicious German-style craft beer, the day's festivities will include a live performance by the Czech Plus Band, traditional Oktoberfest games including a stein-holding competition, a children's yodeling contest, food vendors, Shopkeeper specials, and much more!

October 1st, 1-5pm
Fall Harvest Dance, DanceMor BallRoom
Sponsored by the Czech Heritage Foundation, enjoy live music by The Mark Vyhlidal Band. Tickets are $10 and guests under the age of 21 are free. This is a great opportunity to support the many educational projects and programs the Czech Heritage Foundation provides.

October 6th, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
5th Annual Beers in the Barnyard, Old McDonald’s Farm, Bever Park
Enjoy an evening of live music from The Blake Shaw Quartet, picnic meal from Winifred’s Catering, wine sampling from Vineria Wine Shop, and domestic selections and local craft beer from Iowa Brewing Company, Clock House Brewing and Lion Bridge Brewing Company. All proceeds benefit the Cedar Rapids Parks Foundation's ReLeaf for Parks initiative supporting the planting and care of over 8,000 trees in Cedar Rapids parks.

October 7th, 7:30-10pm
Chocolate Walk, Uptown Marion
What could be more delightful than shopping and chocolate? Add in a fall night in Uptown Marion! Enjoy strolling historic Uptown Marion at this after hours, adult-only shopping event. Visit your favorite stores, discover what’s new just around the corner and savor a sweet treat from participating businesses.

October 8-9th, 10am-6pm
Iowa Renaissance Festival, Middle Amana Community Park
Celebrating 30 years of family fun, come experience live entertainment featuring comedy, swordplay, music, magic, and even horseback jousting. Explore a marketplace full of unique merchandise from around the land. Enjoy tasty treats and drinks in the royal food court (including adult libations like honey mead). The village awaits your visit!
