Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, and Jackie Koster, BSW, from UnityPoint Hospice facilitate this monthly grief group at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) that is open to any adults grieving loss through death. On the third Wednesday of each month, come together in person to explore a different creative art medium. (A similar group for children and the adults who support them is offered on the second Wednesday of each month.) In July, we’ll explore imprinting on air dry clay discs to make nature and animal designs. In August, we’ll explore paint splattering to remind us that beautiful things can come from messy beginnings. The final creations can be used as aromatherapy diffusers or simply as decorative discs. Registration is required by noon a week in advance. This in-person group is free and includes all art supplies. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
