Celebrate the holiday season with Shadrack’s Christmas Adventure and Hawkeye Downs Santa Village in Cedar Rapids! This drive-thru light display will take guests through an enchanting experience that promises to captivate your senses and transport you to a larger-than-life storybook adventure like never before. Admission to the Santa Village is included in the drive-thru light display ticket price.

This holiday season, Hawkeye Downs Speedway and Expo Center is excited to partner with Shadrack Productions and bring the Christmas Adventure and Santa Village to Cedar Rapids!
In 2023, Shadrack’s Christmas Adventure takes over the race track at Hawkeye Downs to create a drive-thru Christmas light event that will literally brighten up the holidays. The displays include entertaining scenes stretching over a mile that dance along to Christmas music to create a sensory experience that brings in hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the country.

It’s an orchestra of colored lights on the race track, all seen from the warmth of your car, as you drive through the display specifically designed to engender Christmas spirit, even in the most ardent of Scrooges. The custom-built light displays include a drive-through tunnel and lighted trees as well as custom-built displays of Santa.

“Welcome to the breathtaking world of the very first drive-through storybook in lights! Step into a realm where imagination meets reality, and the magic of Christmas comes to life in a grand and unprecedented fashion. This enchanting experience promises to captivate your senses and transport you to a larger-than-life storybook adventure like never before. So get ready because you are the story this holiday season! Christmas gets BIG at Shadrack’s Super-Sized Christmas Adventure when Santa’s Shrink Ray accidentally hits your car instead of the presents it was aiming for, plunging you and your family into a world of super-sized toys, animals, and imagination. Will you find a way to ‘regrow’ or will you become lost in the tiny tinsel mayhem forever?”

After you complete the drive-thru experience, the fun isn’t over! Guests are welcome to the Hawkeye Downs Santa Village, supported by BGHN Associates in the North Expo Hall. 

All ages will enjoy visiting Santa Village, included with your drive-thru light show ticket. The indoor holiday experience is complete with fun for all ages, including:

• $5 Photos with Santa at Santa’s Workshop, sponsored by Kalona Mini Buildings
• Craft & Coloring Station
• Letters to Santa Station, sponsored by Hills Bank
• Selfie Stations, sponsored by Skogman Companies, Rinderknecht Associates, Impact Embroidery, Ironside Apparel, and Iowa Style Apparel
• Holiday Market

The elves from H&H Fun Rides will host inflatable fun and rides for kids in the Santa Village, too! Wristbands and individual inflatable tickets will be available for purchase. 

Need a snack or something to warm up while you’re visiting the Santa Village? Hawkeye Downs will offer concessions for sale, including items such as hot cocoa, cookies, coffee, and other snacks.
