This all-weather trail now extends from Blairs Ferry Road NE through downtown Cedar Rapids to 76th Avenue SW where it becomes the Hoover Trail. The Cedar River Trail is 12.6 miles long and is ten feet wide. Experience the sights and sounds of urban wildlife along McCloud's Run, Cedar Lake, and the Cedar River. native grasses and wildflowers have been established along sections of the trail and offer vivid floral displays of nativeIowa prairie. These durable grass and wildflower species offer soilretention, water conservation and wildlife benefits not achievable with cool season mowed turf. During the fall, muted colors still offer seasonal aesthetics while the seed heads serve as a valuable food source to songbirds and other wildlife.Parking for the Cedar River Trail is located at Tait Cummins Park on C Street SW, at Werner Avenue, and at McLoud Run Place on the NE side of Cedar Rapids.Popularity of this trail is increasing daily as people discover its smooth surface and gentle grade changes. Please keep bicycle and roller blade speeds to a reasonable leveland practice good trail etiquette.
