Family Time: Outdoor Style - Fall

Cedar Rapids has long been called the City of Five Seasons, with the fifth season being the time to enjoy the other four. Check out these unique adventure-filled activities the whole family can relish in Fall!

Fall

As fall ushers in stunning colors, don’t miss the beautiful show nature puts on at Pinicon Ridge State Park, Palisades Kepler State Park and Prairiewood Franciscan Spirituality Center. You’ll find excellent views of the changing leaves, refreshing crisp air and stunning walks through woods and prairie. The kids will love an afternoon at Indian Creek Nature Center, Wickiup Learning Center for exhibits and programs or a hayrack ride at Usher’s Ferry Historic Village.

Why not give geocaching a try? Linn County Parks challenges visitors and locals alike to discover 25 hidden geochace gems. Download the app and cache‘em all if you can!
Enjoy a tasty afternoon of apple picking at Allen’s Orchard in Marion or visit Bass Farms, Barts Farm and Kroul Farm for the perfect pumpkin, great photos and fall activities. The Bloomsbury Farm Fall Festival is always a huge hit with a whole host of activities including corn mazes, pumpkin blasters, gemstone mining, barrel rides, a super slide, wine tasting, beer garden for parents and more!

Speaking of beer gardens... annual Oktoberfest celebrations can be found at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (BrewNost), Amana Colonies and in Marion, IA.
