Tuesday, June 14th

6 - 6:30 p.m.: Flag Retirement, Kirkwood Community College

  • Honor our military and thank them for their service and sacrifice while experiencing a traditional American flags retirement ceremony. Learn More.

9 a.m. - 5 p.m.: Log Carving, NewBo City Market 

  • Returning to the 2022 Freedom Festival line-up is the Log Carving Kick-Off! We are excited to have wood-carving artists from Carve R Way, K&S Carving, Logs4Heroes, and LA’s Wildwood Creations back to create beautiful pieces of art from logs! Learn more.

  • The Cedar Rapids Municipal Band celebrates 72 years of providing FREE quality concerts around the metro area. All ages are encouraged to attend. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, friends and neighbors, and enjoy an hour of marches, soloists, serenades, movie medleys, and more from the city’s own concert band. Learn more.

7 p.m.: Five Seasons Ski Team, Cedar River - Ellis Park

  • The Five Seasons Ski Team presents a stunning hour long waterski show with daredevil jump acts, 50 mph barefoot pyramids and much more.  Watch as monster twin and triple engined towboats pull world record level pyramids with 30 or more skiers. Learn more.

6 - 9 p.m.: Tribute to HeroesThe Hotel at Kirkwood

Saturday, June 18th

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.: AMVETS Bug Run, McGrath Powersports

  • Join the AMVETS for their 23rd Annual Veterans Fundraiser! Kickstand up at 10:00am. This event raises funds to support, aid and assist local area veterans. This year’s ride will have 3 to 4 stops with a mid-ride meal! Learn More.

6 - 10 p.m.: Balloon Glow & Great American Kites, Jones Park

  • The event begins with kites flying high in the sky, and as the sunsets, the balloons rise. Once the balloons land, attendees will be able to get up close and personal with these amazing hot air balloons! Learn More.

7 - 10:00p.m.: CRBT Movie on the Riverbank, McGrath Amphitheatre

11 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Imagination! Square, Green Square Park

7 - 11:30 a.m.: Marion Airport Fly-in/Drive-in Breakfast, Marion Airport

  • The EAA Chapter 33 will host the Marion Fly-in, Drive-in Breakfast along with airplane and helicopter rides; aircraft, classic cars, and a fire truck on display; farmers market vendors and more! Learn More.

  • From training wheels to triathlon competitors, ALL are welcome at the 6th annual Freedom Bike Ride! This new and improved ride will include three different loop routes, 10 miles, 25 miles, and 50 miles, that will pass though Marion, Cedar Rapids, Center Point, and Hiawatha. 3 p.m.: A Star-Spangled Organ Concert, First Presbyterian Church

  • This FREE event is a concert of organ music performed by local artists. The music is patriotic, composed by American composers and/or associated with events in American history. Learn more.

6 – 9 p.m.: Concert at Lowe Park, Lowe Park Amphitheatre

6 - 9:45 p.m.: Freedom Festival 4th of July ConcertMcGrath Amphitheatre

  • Johnny Holm Band returns for one huge 4th of July finale party! Perfect for all ages and the best seat in the house for the Celebration of Freedom Fireworks. 6 - 10 p.m.: Celebration of Freedom Fireworks, Downtown Cedar Rapids

  • The 4th of July and fireworks are what the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival was founded upon. The Freedom Festival has grown to offer the Corridor the largest fireworks display in Iowa on the 4th of July!
