Hit the Trails
Cedar Valley Nature Trail – If you’re in it for the long haul, the Cedar Valley Nature Trail is for you. This trail runs 52 miles from Waterloo to Hiawatha, connecting with the Cedar River Trail and Hoover Trail for an additional 18 miles all the way to Ely – 70 miles of paved trail in total! The trail is a key link of both The American Discovery Trail, America’s first coast-to-coast trail and the new Great American Rail Trail.
Cedar River Trail – The Cedar River Trail connects directly to the Cedar Valley Nature Trail making it a seamless transition to continue your adventure from Hiawatha on to Cedar Rapids. Bike through Downtown Cedar Rapids and the NewBo Czech Village District to enjoy shopping, museums, dining and more.
Grant Wood Trail – Bike along the paved Grant Wood Trail for an easy trip near an abandoned railway through Cedar Rapids and Marion! Travel 10 miles from Cedar Rapids, through downtown Marion and into Linn County where the paved trail stops at Creekside Rd and continues as crushed limestone another 2 miles to Springville Road.
Sac & Fox Trail – Looking for a trail that truly connects you with nature? The Sac & Fox Trail stretches 7.2 miles along the Cedar River and Indian Creek, offering a peaceful crushed-limestone path surrounded by wildlife and native landscapes. This scenic route is perfect for anyone wanting an immersive outdoor experience

Don’t have a bike but still want to explore? Check out the Micromobility Program offered in Cedar Rapids! Conveniently check-out and rent a scooter, electric scooter or electric bike for short trips, returning them to a designated parking station once finished using. Bike lines are available in Downtown areas, and users must be 18 years or older to ride the bikes.
