NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championships Hit the Court in Cedar Rapids
2026 will be the third consecutive year the championships have been hosted in Cedar Rapids.
CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – Cedar Rapids Tourism, in partnership with Mount Mercy University, welcomes the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men’s Volleyball National Championships back to Cedar Rapids and the Alliant Energy PowerHouse, April 28th - May 2nd, 2026.
“The NAIA is excited to welcome our Men’s Volleyball National Championship qualifiers to Cedar Rapids. This event continues to showcase the growth and competitive excellence of men’s volleyball across the NAIA,” said Marc Burchard, NAIA Director of Championships. “We are grateful to our hosts and the Cedar Rapids community for providing a first-class championship environment, and we look forward to an outstanding tournament featuring some of the top teams in the country.”
This is the third consecutive year the championships have been hosted in Cedar Rapids. Two Iowa universities, Mount Mercy University and William Penn University, are among the contenders and will compete in a field of 12 competitive teams from across the country. The tournament starts with 3 days of pool play, April 28-30, and the winner of each pool continues into the semi-finals on May 1. The final two winning teams will face off for the championship title on May 2.
“We are looking forward to having the top teams from across the country converge on Cedar Rapids for a great week of volleyball that will have a massive economic impact for our area hotels and restaurants.” said Director of Sports Tourism, Jay Fanta. “Our local host partner Mount Mercy University also qualifying for the national tournament adds some exciting local flavor coming off a season in which they were nationally ranked.”

- William Penn University – Oskaloosa, Iowa
- Bethel University – Mishawaka, Indiana
- Indiana Institute of Technology – Fort Wayne, Indiana
