High Reliability Schools Institute Comes to C.R.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA – The Cedar Rapids Tourism Office is excited to welcome Marzano Resources and the High Reliability Schools Institute to the City of Cedar Rapids and the Cedar Rapids Convention Complex July 10-12, 2023.

“Marzano Resources has been honored to partner with schools and districts in Iowa since 2010, and we’re excited to continue that collaboration with these exceptional educators who are investing their summer months in professional learning around the High Reliability Schools framework for continuous school improvement.” says Julie Simms, Vice President of Marzano Resources.

The High Reliability Schools (HRS) framework was developed to guide districts and schools in a successful school improvement process that is well-organized, coordinated, collective and systemic. It encourages educators to concentrate their efforts on five key areas of operation:
1. Safe, Supportive, and Collaborative Culture

2. Effective Teaching in Every Classroom

3. Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum

4. Standards-Referenced Reporting

5. Competency-Based Education

This is the first time HRS has been held in Cedar Rapids and it will bring an estimated 550 attendees representing 37 school districts and 13 states to participate in this 3-day program in downtown Cedar Rapids.

“We are excited to welcome Marzano Resources and educators from across the Midwest to Cedar Rapids,” says Julie Stow, Associate Executive Director of the Cedar Rapids Tourism Office. “We look forward to showing our valued educators the cultural attractions and culinary gems of our community.”
