Redlining Discussion
Jun 18 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
African American Museum of Iowa 55 12th Ave SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52401 (319) 862-2101Overview
Learn more about redlining and the ongoing impacts through this redlining panel discussion. This program is a collaboration with The
History Center, Tamara Marcus (Empowered Solutions Network), and Anne Carter (now of the African American Museum of Iowa). The event will teach about the artificial and physical lines that were created to serve as barriers against Black people in society. We will be discussing the barriers in healthcare, food, real estate, business, and much more. Tamara and Anne have been conducting interviews with local community members, and we invite you to hear about their stories.
