Cedar Rapids Kernels
Home: Veterans Memorial Stadium
Season: April - September

It’s always a “Party at the Park” with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, the class A Midwest League affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. With affordable tickets, delicious food and cold beverages, you can choose from more than 70 home games played at Veterans Memorial Stadium each season. A night out with the Kernels provides family-friendly excitement, weekly theme nights and surprises for fans to enjoy a night of minor league baseball.

Cedar Rapids RoughRiders
Home: ImOn Ice Cedar Rapids
Season: October - April

For more than 20 years, the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have been crashing the boards at The Stable (ImOn Ice) and making history. The RoughRiders are a Tier 1 Junior Hockey team in the United States Hockey League featuring players aged 16-20 on their way to play in college or the NHL. Every game is an action-packed adventure with a lively crowd and competitive atmosphere, so don’t miss a second of the fun. Get your tickets, bring your cowbells and get ready for a raucus good time at The Stable.

Weekly Racing at Hawkeye Downs
Location: Hawkeye Downs Speedway
Season: April - October

Feeling a need for speed? Since 1925, the Hawkeye Downs Speedway has been one of the Midwest’s crown-jewels of short-track racing. The asphalt track hosts weekly racing spring through fall including enduro racing, drag racing and driving of regional and national racing series including ASA, IMCA, NASCAR, ARCA Midwest Tour and the American Indycar Series. Friday nights at the Downs are a local staple and a high-octane good time!

Cedar Rapids RiverKings
Home: Alliant Energy PowerHouse
Season: March - June

Returning in 2024 after a brief hiatus due to Covid and a change in ownership, the Cedar Rapids RiverKings hit the gridiron at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse for an action-packed season of play with the American Indoor Football league. The Riverkings will face teams from across the country in the high-energy arena football atmosphere.

Iowa Raptors
Home: Alliant Energy PowerHouse
Season: November - February

The Iowa Raptors thrive in creating commitment, competitiveness and communtiy as they provide a pathway to the professional level for adult and youth soccer players. This consisitently high-ranking team plays in the Midwest Central Conference of the UPSL and calls the Alliant Energy PowerHouse home for their winter season. Plus, don’t miss the Lady Raptors hitting the field for their fourth season in the WPSL!

Five Seasons Ski Team
Home: Ellis Park & Harbor
Season: June - August

The Five Seasons Ski Team presents a stunning hour long waterski show, with daredevil jump acts including helicopters and flips, 50 mph barefoot pyramids and much more.  Watch as monster twin and triple engined towboats pull world record level pyramids with 30 or more skiers.  With 50 costumed performers, an award winning announcer and rapid fire action these shows have been featured on ESPN and OLN television. Free shows every Thursday at 7 pm this summer at Ellis Park & Harbor.

PRO TIP: Don’t sleep on Cedar Rapids’ college sports scene. Coe College, Kirkwood Community College, Mount Mercy University and Cornell College all call the area home and offer a variety of events year-round. Plus national tournaments like NJCAA Volleyball, NCAA Wrestling and Baseball and NAIA Cross Country occur annually.


Public Golf Courses
Explore the sweeping greens of the City of Cedar Rapids’ public golf courses and enjoy a relaxing day while setting a new personal best.

  • Ellis Golf Course, 1401 Zika Ave. N.W., Cedar Rapids
    Journey through beautiful landscape and breathtaking views of an urban forest carved from mother nature nearly 100 years ago. With generous fairways and challenging greens, Ellis will provide you a magical golfing experience. The “Crown Jewel” of the Cedar Rapids municipal golf courses is appreciated by every golfer for its historical charm, newly updated clubhouse and contemporary design ensuring enjoyment for all.  
  • Twin Pines Golf Course, 3800 42nd St. N.E., Cedar Rapids
    Generous fairways, lush greens and an easy to walk layout have made this one of Iowa’s most frequented and popular courses. Variety of hole lengths serve families and players of all abilities while facilitating a fast round. It has received the family course designation from the PGA and NRPA (National Recreation & Parks Association).
  • Gardner Golf Course, 5101 Golf Course Rd., Marion
    Experience the beauty and wildlife of the country setting of Gardner golf course. The relaxing location and rolling terrain with wide fairways and large gentle undulating greens make for an enjoyable “shot-making” experience.

Mini Golf Courses
You’ll have a mega good time at these mini golf courses!

  • AirFX Mini Golf, 1100 N 18th Ave, Hiawatha
  • This 18-hole lighted miniature golf course at AirFX Trampoline Park features ramps, jumps, tunnels and tubes. The course is also handicap-accessible, so everyone can participate. Check out all the other activities at AirFX including a laser maze, ninja warrior course, climber zone and more!
  • Bass Farms, 840 Bass Lane, Mt. Vernon
    Head out to the farm for some fresh air and enjoy the newly refinished 18-hole mini golf for a small fee. Stop in the store to pick up your putter and golf ball. Grab some ice cream, veggies, plants and many other products in the specialty food store!
  • Mini Pines Mini Golf, 3800 42nd Street N.E., Cedar Rapids
    This 18-hole, fully inclusive miniature golf course is courtesy of the Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department. It features completely accessible holes throughout – one of only a few courses to offer this level of play for individuals with mobility disabilities. Features include a pond area, nine-foot waterfall, and a final “horse race” hole where anyone has a chance to win. The course is lighted so your play can continue well into the evening. Conveniently located next to Twin Pines Golf Course which features a driving range and 18-hole traditional golf course.
  • Waterfall National Mini Golf, 3001 Wright Brothers Blvd E, Cedar Rapids
    Airport National Public Golf Course welcomes you to their FUN mini golf course. Great for a family day out, birthday parties or group outings.

Disc Golf Courses
Whether you are an experienced player involved in competitive tournaments or just looking to get outdoors with some friends, there are multiple courses that will accommodate your skill level.

  • Fay Clark Park, 1200 N 18th Ave, Hiawatha
    Fay Clark is the most beginner friendly course with few trees to contend with. The main challenge that appears at Fay Clark is the wind, as the course is positioned near the highway. The course is well maintained with signage on every hole, concrete tee pads and multiple basket positions on most all the holes.
  • Jones Park, 201 Wilson Avenue S.W., Cedar Rapids
    This course is a fairly beginner course with friendly fairways and several shorter holes. There are more trees in play than at Fay Clark, however, they are not on every hole and they help aid in wind block. The course is well maintained with signage on every hole, concrete tee pads and multiple basket positions on most of the holes.
  • Shaver Park, 800 J Avenue N.E., Cedar Rapids
    Shaver is the most difficult of all the courses in the Cedar Rapids area as you play almost entirely in the woods with several trees to navigate around. With a handful of par 4s on the course it demands that players control their shots with both precision and accuracy. The course is well maintained with signage on every hole and concrete tee pads.

  • Butterfield Skate Park, 3500 29th Ave, Marion
    Located in Lowe Park, Marion's newest skate park was opened in 2019.
  • Hughes Park Outdoor Ice Rink, 2100 Wilson Ave S.W., Cedar Rapids
    Winter time at Hughes Park brings a an unexpected treat. The basketball courts get flooded and the park sports an outdoor ice rink for the season!
  • ImOn Ice Arena, 1100 Rockford Rd S.W., Cedar Rapids
    ImOn Ice has been serving Cedar Rapids as a community center for over 20 years. As a multi-purpose sports and recreation venue with two sheets of ice, we offer public skating, learn to skate, figure skating, youth and adult hockey, speed skating, birthday parties, private lessons, plus more!
  • Riverside Skate Park, 1605 A St. SW, Cedar Rapids
    Drop in at Cedar Rapids’ newest skate park! Completely reimagined, rebuilt and constructed in 2023, the new Riverside Skate Park is a great way to enjoy time in the sun, burn some extra energy and make new friends!
  • Super Skate, 5100 Northland Ace N.E., Cedar Rapids
    A Cedar Rapids staple for over 40 years, rent your skates and hit the rink for some old-school fun!
  • Under Hill Skate Park, 331 B Ave N.E., Mt. Vernon

  • Jones Park Pickleball Courts2819 Fruitland Blvd S.W., Cedar Rapids
    The new complex features five courts on both sides of a central shade area with electrical outlets. Each court has a four-foot fence that separates it from the others. An eight-foot fence encloses five courts on each side. The courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Noelridge Park Tennis Courts, 4900 Council Street N.E., Cedar Rapids
    Located on the northeast side, you'll find 6 courts available on a first-come first serve basis in near the pool in one of the city's favorite parks.

    The 12 outdoor courts are open sunrise to sunset year-round. The clubhouse is open during scheduled events and is accessible to all individuals with disabilities. Large trees near the courts provide plenty of shade for spectators during meets.
