Summer Festivals 2022

As the city heats up, so does the fun!

Checkout this year’s line up of can’t-miss festivals in and around the Cedar Rapids area. We’ll see you there!


May 7th-8th
Chalk the Walk, Mount Vernon
Chalk the Walk features work from hundreds of people of all ages and abilities using over half a ton of chalk with a downtown street as their canvas. Cash prizes will be awarded and outdoor food vendors and musicians will be on hand throughout both days of the event.

May 13th-15th 
44th Annual Houby Days, Czech Village
Celebrate Czech and Slovak traditions and explore what Czech Village has to offer. We will have live music and entertainment, food and craft vendors, classes, costume walk, and of course kolaches! There will also be a fun run sponsored by SOKO.

May 21st
Cedar Rapids Beer Summit, DoubleTree by Hilton Convention Complex
Sip your way through mountains of craft beer samples at the 7th Annual Cedar Rapids Beer Summit. Join us at the DoubleTree Convention Center this May for a craft beer festival like no other. Over 100 craft beer styles from more than 50 breweries will be available for your taste buds to try. Enjoy live music, great vendors, and delicious food available for purchase to ensure a perfectly crafted experience.

Marion Arts Festival, Marion
Thirty years young, the Marion Arts Festival is consistently named among the top tier of juried art events nationwide! Presenting 50 artists, and offering fine art and fine craft to an audience of 10,000.

May 28th-May 30th
Iowa Renaissance Festival & Gathering O’Celts, Middle Amana Community Park
The Iowa Renaissance Festival is celebrating its 30th year! Stop by Middle Amana Community Park from 10am-6pm for a bounty of live entertainment featuring comedy, sword play, jousting, and much more! Also check out the wonderful marketplace of unique merchandise and sample delicious foods and brews. 


June 5th
Wings Over Iowa, Eastern Iowa Airport
NGPA: The Worldwide LGBTQ Aviation Community is hosting an aviation block party with live music, a static aircraft display, local food trucks and vendors. The public is invited to take part in the event.

June 14th- July 4th
Freedom Festival, Cedar Rapids
Join the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival annually from mid-June to July 4th for fun events that embody the spirit of patriotism and a sense of community and family. For more details visit freedomfestival.com.

June 18th
Juneteenth, NewBo City Market
Join the African American Museum of Iowa for a mayoral proclamation, all-day stage performances, community vendor booths and more. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration of the end of slavery in America and remembers the day of June 19, 1865 when the last enslaved people in America were finally freed upon receiving news of the Emancipation Proclamation.

June 22nd-26th
Linn County Fair, Central City
Join the festivities during this six-day extravaganza of entertainment, competition and exhibits. Experience the fun of a great county fair and become part of its rich history. Mitchell Tenpenny and Rodney Atkins highlight the musical acts Thursday and Friday night.


July 1st-4th
Red, White and Bourbon Music Fest, Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery
A love of music, Americana, and bourbon all come together over the July 4th weekend at Cedar Ridge. The Distillery will host free, live music all weekend long with amazing cocktail specials and much much more.

July 8th-10th
Mt Vernon 34th Annual Heritage Days Festival, Mount Vernon
Heritage Days is Mount Vernon’s 3-day community festival. Live music, parade, kids fun and food are just a few of the activities planned! It will take place Friday, July 8 at Kernoustie Golf Club and Saturday, July 9 in and around Uptown Mount Vernon.

July 9th
CR Pride Festival, Cedar Rapids
Show your true colors with CR Pride for the annual CR Pride Festival. The family-friendly event features performances, art, food and entertainment!

July 11-17th
75th Annual International Juggling Festival, Cedar Rapids
Jugglers and circus artists from all over the world will once again take over downtown for a 6-day festival of fun and entertainment. With multiple ticketed performances at the Paramount Theatre and surprises all week long.

July 15th-16th
Solon Beef Days, Solon, IA
Since its start in 1971 we've been growing and going strong ever since! Beef Days is held every year beginning on the 3rd Friday in July and includes events like the hay bale toss, bags tournaments, community fun run, kickball, live music and more!

July 30th-31st
Harmony Festival, The New Bohemian District
Harmony Festival is a Yoga Music Festival that will take place in Cedar Rapids on July 30 and 31, 2022. There will be a variety of yoga, meditation, and sound healing classes., as well as live music to listen to, local shops to explore, and more!


August 12-14th
Sweet Corn Festival, St. Jude
Since our founding in 1976, St. Jude Sweet Corn Festival has been a top carnival in Cedar Rapids. We offer guests of all ages the chance to enjoy our many entertainment services in a safe and fun-filled environment.

August 18th-20th
Lisbon Sauerkraut Days 2022, Lisbon
The old Lincoln Highway will be filled with the smell of brats and sauerkraut! The streets will be packed with rides, carnival games, community bands, bingo, bathtub races, street dances, and good time family entertainment!

August 20th
Bourbon & Blues Festival, McGrath Amphitheatre
Cedar Ridge and Linn County Blues Society present the first annual Bourbon and Blues Festival. Join in the celebration and raise funds for the organization’s several benefactors, including Eastern Iowa Arts Academy and the Community Health Free Clinic. The female, award-winning blues artists include headliner Shemekia Copeland, Caroyln Wonderland, Danielle Nicole, and Molly Nova and the Hawk featuring Bryce Janey.

August 27th
Market After Dark, Cedar Rapids
Celebrate with thousands in downtown Cedar Rapids for food, beer, wine, art, and entertainment. Shop a variety of vendors mixed with lively stage and street entertainment, creating a unique nightlife opportunity for downtown Cedar Rapids.


September 3rd
Intercultural Festival in Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids
Join this fun, interactive event designed to break down barriers, bring the community together and create understanding through fashion shows, stories, games, children’s activities, Raggae music, Bollywood/Salsa/Afrobeat workshops, Zumba and more.
