At Local Craft Ale House, the key word is local - you’ll find 16 Iowa beers on tap that constantly rotate, fresh cheese weekly from Milton Creamery, hummus from Oasis Falafel, pork from The Sausage Foundry, Iowa-sourced beef and in season produce from local farms.
“When you walk in the door, you’re supporting nearly 40 local businesses. You are supporting this community,” said Wilkerson.
The menu is non-traditional pub fare, all meat is hand cut, smoked in house, sauces are made fresh and salads and wraps offer healthy alternatives. For those not into craft movement, they have domestic beers, wine and cocktails at the full bar.
Located just of I-380 and right off of the Cedar Valley Nature trail it is easy to drive or bike right up to the front door. Summer will bring the patio (seats 50) to life. As a pub that serves great food, it a great gathering space for groups, teams and parents (teens and above), locals and visitors. They have one of the best happy hours in town and trivia on Tuesdays. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy game day, offering 13 TVs including 3 over 70 inches with overhead sound for the Hawkeyes, Cyclones and other major sporting events.
“My goal is to bring in customers that turn into our guests, then regulars and end up as friends,” said Wilkerson.
