Take Dad out on the Town

10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Bikes & Bloodies, NewBo City Market
Take a family bike ride and stop by NewBo City Market for Bikes & Bloodies (presented in partnership with Cedar Ridge Winery & Distillery)! Relax on the patio before or after your adventure with a Bloody Mary or Screwdriver. No ticket necessary. Must be 21 years or older to purchase alcohol.

10 – 11:30 a.m.
Soundness with Sayde Yoga, Illuminations
Help dad get centered with this all-level group yoga therapy session. Breath is emphasized while moving the body, honing in on the heart and steering the mind back to spirit. Every-body is welcome, so bring the whole family.

Father’s Day Lunch, Elk’s Lodge
Celebrate your father and all fathers at Elk Lodge 251. With purchase of the entry price, each attendee will receive a tasty lunch plate with pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, baked beans & a cookie. You can’t go wrong with lunch at the Elk’s!

Dad’s Day at Millstream Brewing Co., Millstream Brewing Co.
Take your dad out for a beer and an afternoon of fun, family and board games. The Wurst Beer Ever will be on tap along with nearly two dozen other refreshing hand-crafted brews.

11:00 a.m. Spectator Gates Open; 12:00 p.m. Racing Begins
Autocrafters Enduro Series, Hawkeye Downs
Is your dad a race fan? This is a must-see event for die-hard fans or the casual spectator! 250 laps on the oval! An insane battle to see who can finish first. Bumping, banging, and great racing for the whole family.

11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Jackson Pollock Paint Experience, Threads Cedar Rapids
Take dad out for a creative mess. The folks at Threads Cedar Rapids invite you to come fling paint at canvas just like Jackson Pollock. For just $25, up to 6 people can great their very own masterpiece. Plastic suits will be provided but choose your wardrobe wisely!

Dollar Day for Dad, Cedar Rapids Community Pools
Bring dad to the pool for his special day. For June 19th only, Dads swim for only $1 when accompanied by children.

The Color Purple, CSPS
Catch the final performance of The Color Purple’s musical incarnation, adapted from Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel (and the popular 1985 Steven Spielberg film). With a joyous score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music, and blues, The Color Purple is a story of hope, a testament to the healing power of love, and a celebration of life.

Chocolate Crackers, Chrome Horse Saloon
Treat your dad to some epic Father's Day shenanigans, great food and an afternoon of classic rock with this local favorite cover band.

Dogs on Skis, House Divided Brewery
Classic Rock for all occasions, Dogs on Skis is the perfect live music on Father’s Day! Visit House Divided Brewery in Ely is a microbrewery and tap room located in downtown Ely, Iowa right off the Hoover Nature Trail.

Annual Crawfish Boil, Old Neighborhood Pub
Celebrate with dad and boil some crawdaddys at the Old Neighborhood Pub's 4th annual patio party with Mudbugs!

7:30 p.m.
Freedom Festival: Cedar Rapids Municipal Band, Ellis Park
Take dad out for a FREE concert for all ages. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, friends and neighbors, and enjoy an hour of marches, soloists, serenades, movie medleys, and more from the city’s own concert band.

Speedeezz Indoor Karting, Hours: 12 – 8 p.m.
Does your dad have a need for speed? Buckle in and challenge dad to live your racecar dreams as you drift around corners, pass the competition and cross the finish line with the wind in your hair.

4 Season Indoor Golf, Hours: 9 a.m. – 12 a.m.
Book a tee-time for dad at Eastern Iowa’s premier indoor golf simulator. The private simulators are perfect for golfers of any ability and offer year-round playing and entertainment. We have a space for any group size and offer a unique experience. All simulator bays have their own refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stereo, flat-screen TV (equipped with HULU Live and ROKU) and restroom.

D-BAT Marion, Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Hit the batting cages with dad on Father’s Day. D-Bat Marion has 15 batting cages equipped with Baseballs/Softballs, "L-Screen", and a batting tee. Cage Rentals are rented in half-hour increments.

What’s Better Than Sunday Brunch?

BBQ Picnic To-Go, The Hotel at Kirkwood Center
Order the BBQ Picnic To-Go for just $55. The Picnic Pack serves 6 and includes smoked brisket, pulled pork,and kielbasa with sides of macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad and jumbo chocolate chip cookies. Service and traditional accompaniments are included, and add-on options included a Big Grove 6-pack or garden salad. Orders must be placed by Thursday, June 16 for pick-up on Sunday, June 19.

Cedar Ridge, Hours: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
This celebrated winery and distillery is cooking up a special all-day brunch on Sundays. Donuts and woodfired pizza highlight their brunch menu, with cocktails featuring their award-winning bourbon. Cedar Ridge is a can’t miss.

LP Street Food, Hours: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Looking for a laid-back atmosphere, but don’t want to skimp on the food? LP Street Food is the place for you! Brunch is offered every Sunday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., with menu highlights from a breakfast gyro and cheddar biscuits and gravy, to a banana split waffle.

Chrome Horse, Hours: 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Can’t decide what you want to eat this morning? Check out the breakfast buffet at Chrome Horse every Sunday from 8am – 1:00pm.  Get a little bit of everything on your plate, and enjoy a selection of drinks while you eat.
