'Tis the season to be Marion!

Uptown Marion and the Marion Chamber of Commerce are here to help you get in the holiday spirit by offering five great promotional events and activities.  

Kick-off the holiday shopping season with Small Business Saturday! Uptown Marion Main Street and Marion Chamber of Commerce will host a shopping event on Saturday, November 26th, between 10am – 2pm. Enjoy holiday music as you shop and dine Uptown. Receive a free #ShopSmall gift, while supplies last, and be entered to win a $100 Uptown Dollar gift certificate with each receipt you show! For your convenience, a gift wrapping station will also be available. Beyond the District, small businesses across Marion will also be celebrating Small Business Saturday. The day’s activities will conclude with a “Favorite Finds” Event hosted by Culver's Garden Center and Gift Shop from 2:30pm – 4:00pm where Marion shoppers are invited bring a brag bag filled with their favorite finds of the day.

2. Extended Holiday Shopping Hours
Small Business Saturday will launch extended District Holiday Shopping Hours in Uptown Marion between Saturday, November 26th and Friday, December 23rd. Core shopping can take place Monday-Wednesday, Friday: 10am-6pm, Thursday: 10am-8pm, Saturday: 10am – 4pm and Sunday 11am - 3pm at participating businesses.

3. Uptown Holiday Passport
Between Small Business Saturday and December 23rd, shoppers have the opportunity to fill an Uptown Holiday Passport by visiting participating businesses that have decked the halls for the holidays! Passports will be available at each participating business, as well as at the Uptown / Chamber booth during Small Business Saturday and the Peppermint Walk. Return your filled Holiday Passport by noon on 12/23 to the Uptown /Chamber office for a chance to win a $50 Uptown Dollars gift certificate.

4. Christmas in the Park and Peppermint Walk
Rich in traditional holiday activities, Christmas In The Park takes place Friday, December 2nd from 4pm -8pm. You won't want to miss this family event that has been a tradition in Uptown Marion for over 25 years. Enjoy horse drawn carriage rides, hot cocoa & popcorn, holiday music and the lighting of the Peace Tree. Don't forget the jolly man himself! Santa and Mrs Claus arrive in style escorted by the Marion Fire Department. Stroll Uptown Marion and visit shops filled with one of a kind, unique goods and services. Shoppers will receive a peppermint treat at participating businesses and may enter for a chance to win gift certificates. Raffle tickets for Breakfast with Mrs Claus will also be also be available for purchase at the event. Children ages 5-10 are eligible for a chance to attend this special event at the Granger House Museum on Saturday, December 10th.  All activities at Christmas In The Park are free thanks to our Platinum Community Partners: Farmers State Bank, Fosters Heating and Air Conditioning, ImOn Communications, MercyCare Marion and Townsquare Media.
